Sewing day
A busy day today as I had friends around for sewing. It seems like months since we last got together for a natter and sew.I was determined to get on with things and was happy with progress. The first thing I made was this round 'ironing board' I first saw it on someone else's blog so if it you are reading this and the idea came from your blog - Thank You. It is made using a 'lazy susan' covered with two layers of batting and finally material spread on the top and gathered underneath. It is for use with the small clover iron which I use fo craft work and should be very useful as I can keep it near the sewing machine.

Secondly I finished a wall hanging which just required freemotion quilting done to it. This is something I have found difficult in the past so was pleased that a little practice seems to have solved the problems I was having. Still not as smooth as I would like but a great improvement.

Wonderful finishes. I especially love your Christmas Quilt, it looks awesome and in plenty of time for the crazy season 2008. Just realised you are from Newcastle, I lived in Middlesborough for 13 years as a young child. Happy Stitching
Thank you sonnja, lissa and anne for your comments.
What a beautiful sewing box. I'm sure I could adapt it to be a papercraft bits and pieces box if I only knew how. Ruth
Lovely quilt. Love the box. Would like one too.

Thank you all for your comments. Carla the box was not too difficult to make.
Hi there Marian,
Love the quilt with the lady on it. Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog.
I noticed you are from Co Durham. I was born in Bishop Auckland and my Dad was from Willington Crook. I lived in Chilton for 4 years after I married and before then in Northumberland for 9 years.... Now up on the north coast of Scotland... with hubbies work. Cheers Elly
